AAA Discount Reminders

AAA Washington was founded in 1904 and now serves over 980,000 members in Washington and northern Idaho (http://www.aaawa.com/ ). One of the benefits that AAA members receive is the “Show Your Card and Save” discount program. AAA members can save at thousands of locations by using their AAA card. AAA Discount Reminders help members find deals when they shop online. Here’s how it works:
- SEARCH on Google or Yahoo! and the AAA Discount Reminder augments the search results by displaying the AAA logo next to retail partners that offer discounts.
- CLICK the AAA logo to go to the page on the AAA web site that explains the discounts offered at that retailer, and how to redeem them, and
- SAVE – shop at the retailer, and get your AAA Discount. See a 2-minute demonstration video at http://www.azigo.com/demo/aaawa/ .
The AAA Discount Reminder uses an Information Card as the transport and storage mechanism for the user’s identity preferences – in this case, the fact that they are interested in augmenting their search results related to AAA discounts. The web augmentation rules are delivered via the Kynetx Network Services (http://www.kynetx.com/ ) server-side rules engine, which are called from the client computer from the installed Azigo (http://www.azigo.com/) software. Azigo is a bundle containing both a Higgins-based identity selector (http://www.eclipse.org/higgins/ ) as well as proprietary extensions for running the Kynetx identity-driven web augmentation rules.
